Why Soul Ryeders
I’ve been involved with Soul Ryeders for over a decade—from tying pink bows around town to helping make blankets for those in treatment. I’ve always admired their mission, but when a close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, I witnessed firsthand the incredible care and compassion they provide. The love, patience, and dignity my friend received during her wig fitting left a lasting impression. Thankfully, she is now in remission, and I’ve been inspired to give back in a way that feels true to me. As both an artist and former art therapist, I deeply believe in art’s power to heal and uplift. This online art show fundraiser is my way of supporting Soul Ryeders’ vital work—50% of all proceeds will go directly to the organization so they can continue to bring comfort, strength, and hope to others.
If you’d like to see work in person, I’m happy to host studio visits in Rye. From now through year’s end, any purchase from my website will also honor the same 50% donation.

Hot Take, 48x36"
There is a dramatic contrast between the cool gray and white washes in the upper portion and the vibrant red and orange marks that burst forth like flames in the lower section. This painting has a lot of texture created with varied techniques, creating both smooth, atmospheric washes and more gestural, expressive brushstrokes with drips. There is a raw emotional intensity, evoking themes of transformation or natural forces in conflict.

Confluence, 36x58"
This abstract oil painting, created over many months, reveals multiple layers of texture and color. Each layer, applied and reworked over time, offers glimpses of earlier marks, allowing fragments of its history to emerge. Soft blush tones merge with earthy greens and muted neutrals, while the interplay of concealed and revealed elements creates both depth and a sense of lived experience—an evolving record of the painting’s own past.

Untitled, 18x18"
This is a series of 4 black and white hands, with bright fluorescent red edges (doesn’t show in the picture). I explore the raw power and expressive potential of human hands. Rendered in black and white, the hands take center stage—unfiltered, essential, and strong. The deliberate lack of color underscores their universality and emotional weight. A sharp edge of fluorescent red disrupts the monochrome palette, creating a jolt of energy that pulls the viewer in and pushes the image forward.

Traveling Through Pink, 10x8
This is also part of a series, all exploring pink and texture. This delicate abstract composition with soft washes of pink, green, and white that blend and flow across the canvas in an organic, dreamlike manner. Dark linear elements and small scattered marks. The overall effect is atmospheric and contemplative, with the translucent layers of color creating depth and movement that invites quiet observation.

Glow Keeper Extraordinaire, 50x35"
This painting is a playful, intuitive exploration of texture, form, and light. I tried to balance softness and tension by using layers and washes. Hints of figures and structures emerge and recede, as if guarding a quiet, glowing energy at the core. This piece invites curiosity, holding space for both mystery and joy.

Outside In, 48x36"
This black and white artwork depicts a solitary figure seated in deep contemplation, with their posture suggesting introspection or melancholy. The soft, ethereal rendering technique creates a dreamlike quality where the figure seems to emerge from and dissolve back into the surrounding gray tones.
Loose brushwork or charcoal application blurs the boundaries between form and shadow, giving the piece an emotional weight that matches the pensive mood. As part of a diptych, this contemplative work likely explores themes of solitude and the human condition through its monochromatic, atmospheric approach.
